Eight speakers consider the contribution of recent fieldwork at various key sites to our knowledge of the pharaonic state’s origins and early development.
The colloquium will be followed at 18.00 by the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Distinguished Lecture in Egyptology:
Ivory and gold
in the Delta: excavations at Tell el-Farkha
by Krzysztof Ciałowicz, Jagiellonian University, Krakow,
Poland.
The Sackler Lecture will be followed by a reception in the Egyptian Sculpture Gallery.
