World Collections Programme and China

The WCP is funding or will be engaged in the following activity:

1) The WCP has provided funding towards the launch of the China Seed Bank which Kew has developed with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Seed Bank is due to be launched in Kunming in Autumn 2008.

The launch of the Seed Bank will be linked to the Kew/BM China Landscape open at the BM until 27 October 2008.

2) The WCP has provided a contribution towards the British Museum’s 2008 International Curatorial Summer School, which has been adapted to make best use of the expertise of all six institutions. Representatives from museums in China secured places on this Summer School.
