A collection of contemporary textiles celebrating 50 years of
Ghana's independence.
This exhibition marked the 50th anniversay of Ghana's
independence from Britian (6 March 1957). It displayed a range of
printed cloths, which play an integral role in many aspects of
Ghanaian daily life such as ceremonies, politics and religion, and
are a significant part of Ghana's economy.
The exhibition was produced in partnership with the Department
of Archaeology of the University of Ghana at Legon Musuem. An
exhibition of this material opened at the Legon Museum on 6 March
2007.
