Main purpose of job:
There are three principal areas of activity. First, the
scientific examination and analysis of materials in the British
Museum collection for their identification, provenance or
technological investigation, deterioration and conservation, using
a range of analytical techniques to tackle curatorial and
conservation enquiries. Second, routine X-radiography of a range of
object types, assisting with maintaining existing and future
equipment and developing skills in the interpretation of
radiographic images. Finally, to act as the scientific advisor and
liaison point for chemical and other science safety matters,
working alongside the departmental health and safety
co-ordinator.

Visitor Services Manager

Main purpose:
Effective management and development of the Visitor Services team
