New Centre at a glance
The new World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre,
in the north-west corner of the Bloomsbury site, will provide a
major upgrade of facilities at the British Museum.

Exhibitions Centre?
- A dedicated gallery for special exhibitions
- A state of the art conservation and science centre
- A collections' management hub to support the Museum's extensive
UK and international loan programme
- World-class stores for the study collection
What is the size of the World Conservation and
Exhibitions Centre?
The total area of the new Centre is approximately
17,000
square metres.
Where will the new Centre be located?
The new World Conservation and Exhibition Centre will be
built in the north-west corner of the Museum's site in
Bloomsbury, London. The area is highlighted on the plan to the
right hand side.
When will it be finished?
The target date for the completion of the World Conservation and
Exhibition Centre is Spring 2013.
