Prints and Drawings (Room 90)
Exhibitions of prints and drawings are changed several times a
year because long exposure to light causes works on paper to fade
and discolour.
The American Scene: Prints from Hopper to Pollock
10 April – 7 September 2008
The American Scene features around 150 outstanding
prints by 74 leading modern American artists, including George
Bellows, Edward Hopper, Grant Wood, Josef Albers, Alexander Calder,
Louise Bourgeois and Jackson Pollock.
Permanent displays
Three works from the department are normally on display in
the Museum:
Albrecht Dürer, The Triumphal Arch, woodcut,

Jacopo de' Barbari, View of Venice,
woodcut, 1500, in the Study Room lobby off Room 90
Michelangelo,
Epifania, black chalk, around 1550, Room 90
