Study room
The study room is open on weekdays,
10.00-13.00 and 14.00-16.30.
Please contact the department for an appointment if you
would like to study an object in the reserve collection. Space
is limited, so we recommend that you make the appointment at least
two weeks in advance, giving the inventory numbers and details of
the objects you wish to view.
Please let us know how long you will be using
the study room, as it may be necessary in certain circumstances to
limit the number of objects available.
Your application for admission must be supported either by a
member of the academic staff of the Museum or by evidence of
identification (passport, driving licence) and by a letter of
recommendation from an academic institution or a person of
recognised authority.
There are facilities for accessing material on video, DVD, CD
and microfiche in the study room, as well as a photocopier.
You may use your laptop in the study room.
If you need any extra assistance using the facilities in the
study room, please contact egyptian@thebritishmuseum.ac.uk.
