Facilities and services
The Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan
offers a number of services to the public.
The department is open for enquiries weekdays
(10.00-13.00 and 14.00 -16.30) but an appointment only system is in
operation. Please contact the department
for an appointment.
On arrival at the Museum, please go to the
Information Desk in the Great Court and telephone the number given
to you by the member of staff who made the appointment, who will
then arrange to meet you. The entrance to the department is on
the East staircase.
Tours of the reserve and study collection are
occasionally offered to groups of students and societies, including
the British Museum Friends. Please contact the department for more information.
School parties should contact the Department for
Learning and Audiences for details on events related to Ancient
Egypt and Sudan.
