Anouska Komlosy is curator of Asian Ethnography. She completed
her Ph.D. in 2002 in Social Anthropology and has a special interest
in Southeast Asia and Chinese borderlands.
She has carried out long-term fieldwork in Yunnan Province China
with Theravada Buddhist Tai people. She has a particular interest
in cross-border cultures and in cultural flow and exchange
throughout Southeast Asia. She has taught on anthropology,
China studies and inter-cultural relations and her research
interests include visual anthropology (especially photography),
gender and identity politics as well as museum ethnography.
