Touring exhibitions and loans - every year over two million people outside the Museum in Bloomsbury are able to view items from the Museum's collection closer to where they live

Museum of the World

The British Museum’s collection is worldwide in origin and is intended for use by the citizens of the world. The Museum collaborates on exhibitions, skills-sharing, and research with many international partners. These partnerships bring new insights into the collection, and help create new understandings of our changing world.

Touring exhibitions and loans - an extensive loans and touring exhbitions programme allows global access to the Museum collection

International partnerships - a series of reciprocal relationships and collaborative projects with cultural organisations and governments worldwide

Curatorial training programme - a training programme for curators from outside Europe, covering various aspects of museum work

The purpose of the British Museum has always been to put the collection to work for the citizens of the world.  The Museum will continue to seek new ways to meet this need, together with its partners in the UK and worldwide.
