In Mexico, Day of the Dead is an annual festival where
families gather
to remember the dead. This year, celebrate Day of the Dead
at the British Museum with free events and activities
including:
- A Day of the Dead altar created specially for the Museum by Mexican artist Adriana Amaya
- Music and dance performances
- Stilt walkers
- Children’s art and craft workshops
- A special display of macabre papier mâché Day of the Dead figures from Mexico
- A skeleton trail for children
- Film, talks, workshops and a lecture for adults
- Mexican street food
- Colourful carnival processions
