Tomb 42

Tomb type and status: chamber tomb, breached by later well digging and looted
Additional information: Cypriot pottery (White Slip and Red Lustrous Wheelmade) SCE IVIC: four Late Helladic stirrup jars noted.

Tomb 43

Additional information: three human skulls noted, only four stone mortar and pestles retained, ‘many similar broken ones left’. Descriptions of local pottery are seemingly Red Lustrous Wheelmade, Base Ring, White Slip. CVA CM: IIIA2 and IIIB. SCE IV1C: White Painted Wheelmade III, Bucchero

Tomb 44

Contents: held in the Cyprus Museum, seven objects registered as ‘Tomb 44 ? (thus marked, apparently by error)’ have been reassigned to Tomb 48 (see below)

Tomb 45

Tomb type and status: chamber tomb, intact but waterlogged
Additional information: additional goldwork and a cylinder, Late Helladic and Cypriot pottery, (Pastoral, Base Ring II, White Slip, Bucchero). Fragments of faience, 23 tripodic mortars and pestles, an ostrich egg and a bronze ring.

Tomb 46

Faience lentoid flask, Egyptian New Kingdom (around 1550 BC-1200 BC). Catalogue number 47.5

Tomb 47

Contents: nine registered objects
Materials/objects: goldwork, bronze sword, faience bead and flask, stone tripod, glass fragment, cylindrical ivory box or handle
Chronological range of objects: LCIB-III, more likely LCII-III
Tomb type and status: chamber tomb, status unknown
Additional information: described as ‘full of human bones’ including ‘several’ skulls, one of which had a gold diadem adhering to it. Additional faience vessels, stone mortars and pestles, Late Helladic and Cypriot pottery, bronze vessels, ceramic figurines.

Tomb 48

Contents: 20 registered objects, seven are uncertain as they were marked ‘44’ in error (see above). One has ‘48’ pencilled on the side and the contents are consistent with the notebook for tomb 48 (including a glass pomegranate and small cups and bowls) so they have been assigned to tomb 48(?).

Tomb type and status: chamber tomb, intact(?)
Additional information: although this tomb has been considered to be a built tomb, the description of a ‘large oblong cave’ is consistent with other chamber tomb descriptions. The ambiguity arises from the fact that the doorway is described as ‘built of small stones and apparently untouched’ but this seems to refer to the sealing of the door rather than the tomb’s construction. Described as having ‘over a span of bone dust on the floor’. Additional goldwork, ostrich egg fragment, Late Helladic and Cypriot pottery, glass, bronze vessel and spiral, faience, ivories.
