Maryam and Edward Eisler
One and One #20 by Timo Nasseri 2010. White ink drawing based upon the architectural design of muqarnas.
Maryam and Edward Eisler provide significant funding to help the Museum expand its Middle East collection.
They are members of the Contemporary and Modern Middle Eastern Art acquisition group, which enables the Museum to respond quickly to the contemporary art market and be strategic in its collecting policy.
The Eisler fund supports the acquisition of important works by Iranian artists. The fund also supports a one year curatorial position to work with a senior curator on researching, administering and developing the modern and contemporary collection at the British Museum, as well as providing for a report to create a strategy for collecting Iranian art for the future.
