What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

Issued tokens. A man of this name was Mayor of Devizes in 1624. His son Edward was Mayor in 1654, and again in 1661. Edward Hope is mentioned in the return of the Lord-Lieutenant of Wilts to the Council of James II. 1687, as "a very honest and fit person to serve his Majity".
