What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

Painter, weaver and sculptor from the Kune/Rembarrnga language group, belonging to the Maningrida community, the Yirritjja moiety and the subsection Gotjjan from South Central Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. She produces work on clan mythologies with a focus on figures and animals. She is the daughter of artist Lena Djamarrayku. (2011)
