James Basire II (printmaker; British; Male; 1769 - 1822)

Engraver; son of James Basire I (1730-1802). Often indistinguishable from his father; doubtful prints in the BM have been attributed to the son.
Apprenticed to his father and free of the Stationers' Company in 1791; succeeded his father as engraver to the Royal Society, and also worked for the Society of Antiquaries.
