Allaert Claesz. (Biographical details)

Allaert Claesz. (printmaker; Dutch; Male; 1520 - 1560; fl.)

Also known as

Claesz., Allaert; Claessen, Allart; Monogrammist AC

Netherlandish producer with a monogram AC similar to Heinrich Aldegrever; traditionally but wrongly identified with Allaert Claesz. Took over some of Crabbe's plates, putting his monogram on them, and perhaps a publisher rather than an engraver (see Filedt Kok).
