What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

Quentin, Georgina; Lawrell, Harriet


Wife of Colonel (and later Sir) George Quentin. Famous as a mistress of George IV.
She was not named Harriet (a confusion since the 19th c probably caused by the Benbow/Eglantine pamphlet 'Memoirs of the Life of the Celebrated Mrs Q') but Georgiana (nee Lawrell).
