Biography

One of four brothers, sons of John Woodburn (q.v.) who worked respectively in printselling, bookselling, picture dealing and frame-making. Samuel specialised in prints and drawings. Responsible for the posthumous dispersal of the collection of Thomas Lawrence.
There were five major sales after Woodburn's death, all at Christie's:
