Description
Trial of Archbishop William Laud in the House of Lords; judges in the middle of the chamber, peers on either side, and in an enclosure, the accused surrounded by clerks and witnesses among whom are, identified by key, William Prynne, Henry Burton and Susanna Bastwick; in the foreground, spectators seen from behind and dog curled up on the floor; the walls with the Armada tapestries; first state.
