Hala Sultan Tekke in the United Kingdom

As far as can be determined by the surviving archival material in the British Museum, no items from the British Museum excavations at Hala Sultan Tekke were donated to other museums around the United Kingdom. As noted above, however, the site was surveyed by Hector Catling in 1951, during which he collected a large number of surface finds. These were exported under licence a few years later and donated to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. The material, some 260 sherds of typical LC and Mycenaean wares together with fragments of a stone bowl, was catalogued by David Frankel and Hector Catling in Hala Sultan Tekke 1 (63–9 and pls XXXVIII–XLIX).
