British Museum Expedition to Elkab and Hagr Edfu, 2011

W. Vivian Davies and Elisabeth R. O’Connell

Since 2001, the British Museum has worked at the sites of Elkab and Hagr Edfu in Upper Egypt. At Elkab, the conservation and protection of the tombs of Sobeknakht, Renseneb, Bebi, Senwosret, and Ahmose-Pennekhbet, continued in 2011. At Hagr Edfu, the expedition continued to conserve wall decoration, record and collate both hieroglyphic and Coptic inscriptions, draw architectural plans and survey pottery. This paper summarises the results of the 2011 field season.
