Who was who in Elephantine of the third millennium BC?
D. Raue
The general outline of the history and development of human
occupation of Elephantine Island has been established over the past
decades. The German-Swiss mission now aims to achieve a better
understanding of the social and economic processes during
particular periods. By resuming investigations, for example, in the
Old Kingdom strata, the effect of external interferences and
regional distribution patterns can be ascertained at the First
Cataract, a key zone of interface between Egypt and its
neighbours.
