Tombos and the Viceroy Inebny/Amenemnakhu
W. V. Davies
The British Museum is currently undertaking an
epigraphic survey of pharaonic rock-inscriptions at the site of
Tombos in the Northern Sudan. This paper publishes the initial
results of the survey: a new facsimile and photographic record of
an inscription on Tombos Island dated to Year 20 of King Thutmose
III of the Eighteenth Dynasty. The paper establishes
the identity of the viceroy responsible for the inscription
and considers other related material.
