A Mamluk Coin from Kulubnarti, Sudan

Coinage is largely absent from the Sudanese
archaeological record as it was officially introduced only in the
nineteenth century. A small bronze Mamluk coin excavated at
Kulubnarti Sudan, and now currently housed in the collections of
the British Museum, is discussed.
