Found near Bergen, Hordaland, Norway, by Johannes Nielsen Maele; "2 Grobe Urnen gefunden in einem 4 Ellen lange und 4 breite Steinzimmer zugleich mit Fragmenten von Schwerte und Sattel-ziersachen von Johannes Nielsen Maele auf den Hof Maele Gjerstads Postamt, 3 Meile nordost von Bergen"; associated with registration nos. 1861,0315.3 to 1861,0315.7 and ?1861,0315.9a below (MS letter from vendor, 23.3.1859). The modern provenance is the Mele farm, Osterøy, Hordaland.
