- Medallic Illustrations 2, published in 1885, states:
Not uncommon.
Executed by Croker. The same two dies for the obverse which were used in striking Medallic Illustrations 2, published in 1885, states: p233.14 were also used for this piece. Two dies were also made for the reverse, and can be easily recognized by the absence of the troops on one of them (see registration no. M.8010). This medal commemorates the chief successes of Marlborough during the campaign of 1703, which were accomplished with very little loss of life. Bonn was the first place to fall, and was followed by that of Huy, 15/26 August, and Limbourg, 16/27 September.
