Gold sword lower guard-plate, the uppermost of the lower pair of sword guard-plates. This guard-plate consists of an elongated plain gold oval with a filigree rope around the central slot for the sword tang. Attached to guard-plate 1939,1010.23 by two rivets, one at each end.
