Fragment of leather with gold foil attached, from shield 1939,1010.94. The impression of a metal clip and a rivet hole are quite clear.

Reason for treatment
Clean, consolidate, repair & repack as necessary.
Wood from shield with traces of leather and gold foil. Modern adhesive on the surface. Fibreglass backing,
Fibreglass trimmed to make it neater. Object repacked in plastic box with polyethlene foam mount. Old labels removed and stored separately.
