Gilded copper alloy strap-fitting also known as a button and loop fastener. Consists of a ring, from the underside of which protrudes a right-angled shank, terminating in a strap bar. Cast; ring is flat on reverse except for where it meets the shank. Double lipped decoration on upper surface of ring. Only the ring is gilded. Very similar to 1847,0208.25 but this example is slightly smaller.
