Description
Plate on a narrow foot ring. Earthenware covered front and back with a presumed tin-glaze. Painted with a landscape, to the right Leda, left Jupiter with the head of a swan and above Cupid. Hanging from a tree a shield of arms in mantling: party per fess; in chief or a crowned eagle displayed sable; in base gules a sword in bend proper between two stars or; above it a helm in blue. Story from Ovid.
