Reason for treatment
Lift. Remove debris except where under inscriptions [H. and . numbers can be removed and recorded on wrapper]. Support edge tears and weak areas. Write on wrapper if watermark visible. Return in Hind number order to RK.
Guarded to solid mount. Trimmed inside platemark. Some skinning down right edge of verso.
Lifted from mount by cutting through guards with a scalpel. Debris removed using a poultice of Culminal (nonionic cellulose ether). Adhesive residue removed with cotton wool swabs dampened with warm water. Skinned area supported using Japanese paper and Abra starch (wheat starch) paste. Humidified over capillary matting and Gore-Tex in a chamber. Pressed under glass.
