Château de Verneuil, two studies of chimney-pieces: the one on the left embellished with acanthus leaf decoration, two Corinthian columns supporting the pediment, two grotesque firedogs in the opening; the chimney-piece on the right flanked by two satyrs draped with fruit and foliage, a third squatting above the opening with dogs and owls on either side, above are two putti blowing horns
