    Label text (added 2003): Trouville was a very fashionable coastal resort in the later nineteenth-century, and this attracted many tourists to work there. Although Boudin had his home in Paris, he moved to the Normandy coast in the summer. He made his beach scenes in oil painting, watercolours and pastels.
