Literature: Rosenberg-Prat, Watteau. Cat. raisonné des dessins, 1996, p.206, no.130 (with further literature). The dancers on the left side betray the influence of N. de Larmessin's etching 'L'accordée de village' (D.V.116) and Watteau's painting 'Le contrat de mariage' in Madrid. Grasselli dates the present drawing to c.1714.
