Popham 1967
In the Woodburn Sale Catalogue attributed to Benvenuto Cellini and described as a design for a sword-hilt. It shows some resemblance (though not in its technique) to another design for a fan-handle, in the Uffizi, first attributed by Toschi ('L'Arte', iii (1900), p. 27) to Orsi. See also 1948,0109.3.
