- A similar composition is in the Courtauld Art Gallery, London, inv.no.D.1952.RW.1647 (signed and dated 1619). Winner compared both sheets stylistically and described the British Museum drawing as a forgery (copied with variations after the Courtauld sheet). The inscription in the lower margin resembles Brueghel's signature on an authentic drawing showing the environments of Nuremberg in the Museum Boijmans-van Beuningen, Rotterdam (signed "Joan breugel 1616 In neurenberg").
