Copper alloy belt plate, with niello inlay.
Claudian. Almost identical to 1982,0103.39, though less well-preserved. Radiography revealed some details obscured by corrosion. Traces of tinning are visible within the outer border of decoration. The rays of the stars are rather thicker than those on 1982,0103.39, giving a more marked 'cellular' effect to the design.
