Letters from C Kenrick Gibbons 9, 13, 21, 29 November 1889 and from C H Read 30 November. The offer to prospective buyers of a 'large collection of chisils, hatchets and other stone implements made by the Caribs of the West Indies' was made by Gibbons who wrote that the collection was 'made by the late Sir Graham Briggs'. At the time of its sale it was 'on display in a room (Lady Briggs') at the Baker St Bazaar, Kings St Entrance'. Read appears to have acquired a selection only [+4380-+4420].
