yfdd Rejoin and reinforce.
All three were broken in half-probably by pressure having been applied to their upper surfaces while the rivets on their outer ends were supported on a rigid surface. All breaks were comparitively recent in the opinion of the conservator.
Perspex supports were made for all three strap ends and stuck in place with H.M.G. nitrocellulose adhesive. The supports conformed to the shape of each strap end and were thick enough to prevent the rivet ends from touching anything.
