From acquisition notes: "Presented by Maori chiefs for funeral of the Hon. R.J.Seddon, Prime minister of New Zealand; deposited as tribute over the coffin."Mick Pendergrast identified the green feathers as being kakapo. The maroon coloured feathers are dyed fowl feathers.
