One of set of four lacing-rings, 'maljor', (1868,0309.41-42, 45-46), silver, of openwork design with with a five-pointed star-shaped motif with a heart at the end of each arm, and a heart surrounded by five stars at the centre, all within a milled ring.

'Received from the Trustees of the Christy Collection in exchange for duplicates from Haslar Hospital.' (acquisitions register for 1868,0309). For explanation see 1868,0309.4. The register also notes that these pieces were 'all from Norway'; they are all made in Sweden. Norway was still united to Sweden until 1905 which may explain the confusion.
