Reason for treatment
clean to remove chemicqal residues, dirt and tarnish.
The silver is very granular and the previous chemical cleaning has left the gilding unsupported and floating in areas. light tarnish in small areas.
swabbed with acetone, removed tarnish by very gently swabbing with cotton wool swabs dipped in silvo, residues removed by swabbing with white spirit.
