Ceramic fragments with accumulated surface dirt. The dirt is oily and black in colour and normally only affects the side of the object uppermost in the draw.1889.0616.1, 1981.0101.176 and 1981.0101.177 each had two objects with the same number, both objects received the same treatement.
The ceramic sherds were wiped with acetone on cotton swabs. This process was repeated until no further dirt was removed.
