veil / scarf
Black veil or scarf made of one length of fabric with black tassels along two sides. It has two bands of multi-coloured cross-stitch embroidery along the two short edges, the embroidered motifs representing stylized cypress trees.

This piece looks brand new and unused. It probably was a piece made for sale to foreigners visiting the region.
This donation consists of four articles of clothing, the veil being one, purchased by the donor's mother in the early 1950s while travelling in the Middle East.
