  • Curator's comments

    The titles used are Bloch's, where they differ from Baer, Baer's titles are shown in brackets.
    This print was made on 31 March 1933 in Paris.The model posing is Marie-Thérèse Walter who is described in a tangled web of lines. Her presence is usually indicated by a vase of flowers. By contrast, the sculptor and the sculpture he is working on are drawn with just a few crisp lines. The sculpture recalls the classical Venus of Modesty, viewed from the rear.
