Reason for treatment
Ceramic fragments with accumulated surface dirt. The dirt is oily and black in colour and normally only affects the side of the object uppermost in the drawer.
The ceramic sherds were wiped with acetone on cotton swabs. This process was repeated until no further dirt was removed.
