- Curator's comments
- This etching has been described as possibly after the 1645 portrait by Rembrandt in the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon, inv.no.1489 (Bredius 239); but this seems unlikely. A painted copy by Salomon Koninck is in the Liechtenstein Museum, Vienna, inv.no.ge97. A drawing is in the Barber Institute, Birmingham (inv.no.49.10; Benesch no. 340).
