Carington Bowles' sale catalogue for c. 1781-82 lists a set of the months as '479. The Twelve Months, in 12 prints, after Dighton; by Earlom, viz.' (p. 108). The present set (2010,7081.392 to 403) is numbered 526 - 537 and must be reissues; the date has been erased on every sheet after 'as the Act directs'. When acquired the prints were still in Minto Wilson collection; the hand colouring appears to date from the 1920s or 30s.
