Lettered above image with title, followed by '15th Edition', and below image with 'Dedicated to / Madame Bizet Michau, / by / Jullien. / Sta. Hall. / Pr 3 / Duet 3/-', and publication line: 'London; Pubd, by Jullien & Co. Royal Musical Conservatory & Circulating Library 214 Regent St & 45 King Street', and part of facsimile of a signature, probably that of Jullien, below at lower right.
  • Curator's comments

    Impression cut at top and below publication line. The print received the following contemporary advertisement in 'The Morning Post', 5 December 1848, p.1 [front-page]: "THE DRUM POLKA-Just published, the DRUM POLKA, illustrated in colours by Brandard, price 3s, performed every evening at M. Jullien`s concerts with the greatest applause. 'This is the most successful polka that M. Jullien has composed since 'The Original' ' - Jullien & Co's Musical Presentation Library, 214 Regent Street, where the best private boxes for the concerts may be obtained".
